We will be visiting two state of the art wineries where we learn the ins and outs of an ancient winemaking tradition unique in Europe.
Many of the wineries in the Salnés Valley source their grapes from tiny plots close to the Atlantic Ocean which give the wine a crisp saline aroma or, as winemasters call it, a pronounced minerality. It is this minerality and its Atlantic coast terroir that sets Albariño apart, and that gives it the edge over Albariños produced in other parts of the world.
